Last night (Tuesday) it rained. This did mean the workers would not be here today to finish off the top coat. ETC our site manager opened up Santa Fe to Fox Glen and Rodeo Drive to Bridle Pass. We are still leaving Ellsworth closed to minimize pass through traffic.
Nagle will notify our site manager when they can come back. There is a slim chance the roads may be worked on Friday or Saturday. The machines have been left here which means it will be sooner rather than later. By Thursday night, we will find out if they come out on Friday. If not, the Board will follow up Friday morning to find out what will happen.
Questions:
- Can I drive on the roads right now?
- Yes, you can use the road and drive home.
- It will not damage the base asphalt level.
- I see foot prints in the road, will this cause damage to our roads?
- No. When they lay the top coat, these foot prints/shoe prints will go away.
- Yesterday we saw workers come through and saw something. There was a lot of dust, what was that?
- When we fixed the curbs, some of the asphalt crumbed. We used the cement to patch until the roads could be done.
- Yesterday, the remaining pieces were removed around the parking spots.
- The Board will do another walk around to ensure all the painted curbs were removed.
- Once they pave the top layer, how long do we have to stay off?
- Because of the colder weather the road should be cured after 24 hours.
- Are there any considerations we can do to ensure the roads do not get damaged?
- It has been suggested by concerned neighbors that we still do not park on the roads for 72 hours.
- Another neighbor suggested when we exit off the driveway, we do not turn the wheel when the car is stopped, it could leave divots or depressions.
- According to ETC, because of the quality level we purchased and the cold weather, 24 hours is more than enough.
- Still, co-0wners are welcome to be more careful and ask guests to park on their driveway for a few days after the final asphalt has been laid.
- Will the garbage and recycle truck come on Thursday and will they damage our roads?
- We plan to have them come on Thursday morning.
- We have been assured if there are any damages to the current layer, the top coat being laid down will fix it.
- Will Mail service be held for us?
- We have receive mixed reports on how effective our Property Management’s request worked.
- If you want to hold mail, each household should complete it themselves via the USPS website.
- What about my deliveries?
- Based on last week’s experience, FEDEX will not deliver if they see the roads closed.
- Amazon & UPS seems to park on the side and walk up the sidewalks.
- There are no guarantees what will happen.
- What if I need an emergency vehicle?
- When you call for 911, make sure to let them know the road is blocked and they can move the barrier.
- This may or may not cause some damage to our roads.
Thank you everyone for your patience and cooperation. We are almost done.
