One of the neighbors recently had their dryer vent cleaned last week and learned about a possible fire hazard. On their roof, when the vent cleaner inspected the vent termination, it was clearly stamped on the vent that it is NOT to be used as a dryer vent. The neighbor wanted to warn the rest of us about what they found out. Because we probably have similar vents. The neighbor provided the following two images to help out. If you’ve never had your dryer vent cleaned in these 20 yo homes, absolutely do it. We waited 17 yrs, our brand new dryer was acting up and this was the problem. We had so much lint in ours it was a definite fire hazard. Get yours cleaned ASAP, and do it every couple of years.
